Abstract

In the wake of the global financial turmoil in 2009, market demand for notebook PCs took off in 2010.The seasonal demand in the European and US markets and steady demand in Chinese and other emerging markets fueled notebook PC shipment in 2010 in spite of the continued worries over the shortage of key components. The full-year Taiwanese notebook PC shipment volume reached approximately 140 million units in 2010, up 19.9% compared to 2009. This report profiles the Greater Chinese notebook PC industry's five-year development trends in the period 2006-2010, analyzes the industry's shipment volume and value in 2010, with breakdowns by screen size, production location and shipment destination, as well as the industry's development trends in 2011 and beyond
